Changed site domain which I wanted to make available for another user
-
Hello!
I was the owner of the site “nanyoart.wordpress.com” which I created for my husband. Later I realised that by posting to it, all the posts will have my name and avatar. I wanted to change that, create my husband’s own account and let him use the domain. To start with I changed the domain of the experimental blog to “nanyoarttest.wordpress.com” and created an account for my husband. Unfortunately “nanyoart” wasn’t available. Anyway, I tried to create “nanyoart.wordpress.com” from his account, but it wasn’t available either.
Could you please tell me if something can be done to get back the domain, or make it available again?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
Unfortunately, once you change or delete the site address, it cannot be used by you or anybody else anymore. Please see http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/ for more information about that.
Sorry I don’t have better news.

Thank you for letting me know. Could I have done anything differently so as to have transfered the domain to my husband’s account before deleting/changing the name?

Sorry, I just found the answer to my question from the link you posted earlier:
“If you find that an active blog address is registered by another user, you may be able to obtain it for your use if the owner of the blog agrees to transfer it to you. You may contact the blog owner – via a comment on their site or through a contact form, if available – to ask for their consent.” -
Here are the instructions to transfer a blog:
