Changed template, but Home page reverted to older version

  Hi. I had a blog on the 2021 themed template, but wanted to switch to Lodestar. However, when I activated the change, the content on my Home page reverted to an older version from almost 2 years ago. I’m really upset because I’m worried I lost all my content. Can someone please, please help me with this? Thank you!

  (I am the mother of a very disappointed 11-year-old, who runs the blog. Please help!)

  Hi gamerkid7,

  Are you using the blog posts feature?

  On your Blog page, https://thesharpshark.wordpress.com/blog/, it looks like your content is all there. Is there something else that’s missing?

  I’m guessing what you need to do is edit the home page and add the blocks you want to make it look amazing.

  The Blog Posts Block will allow you to show your posts on any page, which is probably a good starting point for you.

  Have a look through the available blocks, there are so many, and try them out. There is lots of cool stuff you can do.

  Hi there,

  I see you actually made a number of theme switches before settling on Lodestar. Several of those switches were to our new block-editor themes, and those themes give you an option to enable the theme’s default front page when you activate the theme, and it looks like you did that during at least one of the switches.

  When you do that, your current homepage is set to draft, so the content is still there, but you’ll need to republish it, and set it back to the homepage.

  Go to Pages ->All Pages ->Drafts, find the page with your content, and publish it. Then go to Appearance ->Customize ->Homepage settings, and set the page you just published as the front page again.
