Changed themes and now all my sidebar stuff is gone even after I changed back

Hello, I was using the Vigilance template on my blog for a long time, so when I saw the new Adventure Journal theme I wanted to try it. Since I didn’t see the old “preview” option that used to be available where you could see your blog in the new template before you actually commit, I had to click “activate” to actually see it. When I realized I didn’t like it, I went back to Vigilance, but now all my sidebar stuff is COMPLETELY gone. Nothing is there anymore. How do I get it all back without reentering it. Is it even possible? Why is it like that? =( Why is the preview option gone? Or has it just moved and I didn’t see it? Really bummed that all my stuff is gone now!

  • Your widgets should still be safely stored in the Inactive Widgets area of Appearance -> Widgets. You should be able to drag them back to your sidebar from there.

Thanks, I finally figured that out and pulled them all back over. In the past it seems like changing from one theme to the other didn’t affect anything when you switched back, so I was confused when it all seemed to disappear. Thanks for your comment!
