Changed URL names – Cant access website or WordPress Hosting Login
-
Hi All,
Within the WordPress Hosting admin panel, I accidentally changed my WordPress address (URL) and Site address (URL) from http://www.xigsaw.com to https://www.xigsaw.com before the SSL certificate attached.
I now cant access my website directly through a browser nor can I access my website through the WordPress Hosting login from the name.com admin site. Comes up as cant reach the site
I can login directly to wordpress.com via a browser and can see some of my website settings, however under ‘Settings” and “General” I cant see anywhere, where it allows me to change the WordPress address (URL) and Site address (URL) back to “http:// not “https://”
When I did first go into the WordPress Hosting admin site, I could see the WordPress address (URL) and Site address (URL) sections where its possible to change them, which I did and now cant access due to the mistake in changing the “http://” to “https://”.
I purchased the WordPress Hosting plan through name.com with some features such as backup etc…
What can be done to help gain access into my WordPress Hosting Admin site and the correct settings section and change the WordPress address (URL) and Site address (URL) back without the “s” in the http://?
I don’t have cPanel or such setup to gain access either.
Kind regard

Hello again. Since your site is not hosted on WordPressdotcom’s servers we won’t be able to help you here with this.
In general, if you need help with a site using the open source WP (org) software you’ll want to head over to https://wordpress.org/support There is an entry in the Codex about changing URLs but I am not certain it relates to your current issue. https://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL It might be best to search the ORG support forums for threads with a similar problem and solution. If you need to post, you’ll need to register a username there if you don’t have one. It might also be possible to receive help with this issue from name.com if you are still with them.
For the best possible support with standalone WP, you’ll want to use the support documentation and forums relevant to the platform you are using.
Best wishes.
