Changed URL of website page to https without SSL certification, now locked out
-
I had editing access for the website http://greymattersjournal.com/ewn/, but in Settings/General I mistakenly changed its domain name to be https://greymattersjournal.com/ewn/. Immediately upon my doing this, I was locked out of the admin login for the website (should have been http://greymattersjournal.com/ewn/wp-admin/edit.php but now redirects to https://greymattersjournal.com/ewn/wp-admin/edit.php, where Chrome says “This site can’t provide a secure connection”.).
Now, http://greymattersjournal.com/ewn/ loads, but all the media files that used to be there from the parent website are gone. Also, now the website cannot be edited anymore.
This problem does not affect http://greymattersjournal.com, the http://greymattersjournal.com/wp-admin/edit.php still works, and can be logged into given the correct information. Just the /ewn/ page is messed up.
The greymattersjournal.com domain name is hosted by GoDaddy. I don’t have any access to the account that owns the domain (I’ve only been given editing privileges, and I don’t have access to any files of the website that are stored on a computer (e.g. a .htaccess or a wp-config.php file).
Does anyone have suggestions on how I should proceed with this issue?

Hi there!
I’m afraid that, your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with GoDaddy.
Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. You can read more about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com here:
You can look for help at the community forums here: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
http://wordpress.org/support/ is also a great resource for sites using the open-source WordPress.org software.
