Changed URL on WordPress Dashboard – lost site and ability to login to dashboard

  Hello,

  I built a webpage on WordPress, http://www.fionanightingale.com and have been using it for the past year with no issues. I recently tried to update the domain to http://www.fionapatterson.ca in the two fields available on the dashboard settings. When I clicked “save” my site disappeared and I was unable to log back into the dashboard – http://fionanightingale.com/wp-login.php doesn’t work any longer and neither does http://fionapatterson.ca/wp-login.php.

  I’m not sure where to go from here. I checked some of the other posts, but the directions to download phpMyadmin didn’t work.

  I updated the name servers in Godaddy, as per the wordpress instructions, but I’m sure there’s something else I’m missing.

  Ultimately, I would love to just log back in and update the domains properly this time – is there a way to do this without using phpMyadmin (because I can’t figure out how to even install the program).

  You need to head over to http://wordpress.ORG/support for assistance, since the blog you are referring to is a wordpress.ORG self-hosted one, whereas this is the wordpress.COM hosted support forum. You might need to make an account over there to post, but you should be able to get some help to sort this out!

  You have made a very common error – you might be able to find a thread with how to fix things that is recent – just page back a bit
