changed user name, two blogs show up (and more)

Yesterday, I changed my username from skyeblaine to amritaskyeblaine.
Under skyeblaine.wordpress.com, there were two blogs, “the heart of the matter” and “Sonoma Presence.”
I thought I split the blogs correctly, but two events occurred:
1. the heart of the matter shows up twice when I hover over my name at the upper right: one at skyeblaine.wordpress.com and another at amritaskyeblaine.wordpress.com
There should only be one: amritaskyeblaine.wordpress.com WHAT TO DO?2. I thought I handled the split correctly, but I am unable to get into my Sonoma Presence blog, which I wanted to leave under skyeblaine.wordpress.com HELP!! WHAT TO DO?
I upgraded so that I can email you and get your help, oh happiness engineers…
if you need more information, I’ll try to provide it. Grateful for any assistance. -
Both blogs just have the same title: http://theheartofthematter-dailyreminders.org/ and http://skyeblaine.wordpress.com/
You can adjust the title via Settings -> General in the blog’s Dashboard.

I would like to delete the http://skyeblaine.wordpress.com/ blog. I understood when I changed my username, the first one would go away?How do I delete it?
And how do I get into SonomaPresence, which I split off?

If you want to permanently delete your site, please follow this guide:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/delete-site/Please read the warnings and advice before deleting a site, as we can’t revert a site deletion for any reason.
If you want to hide your site instead, you can use the following guide to make your site private so only you and other members of the site can view it when logged in:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/http://sonomapresence.wordpress.com/ is now under the username skyeblaine.

Hi. Okay, I’m trying to reset the password on username skyeblaine. It said that it sent me an email, but it has not come. I’m trying to be patient.
I’m concerned if I delete the skyeblaine heart of the matter blog, that it might mess up my SonomaPresence blog under the same username–my hope when I split them was that I’d end up with amritaskyeblaine for the heart of the matter, and skyeblaine for SonomaPresence. All of this so I can send my SonomaPresence blog to a different facebook page…
Any thoughts about why the email hasn’t come to change my password? I’m 99.9% sure that the email address for that account is (email visible only to moderators and staff).

Oh, I’m sorry, I see what happened here.
When you chose to change your username to amritaskyeblaine you checked the option to delete skyeblaine account, so the skyeblaine username no longer exists.
For some reason, http://sonomapresence.wordpress.com/ was never transferred away from it.
I have moved that blog to your amritaskyeblaine account, so at least it is no longer attached to a deleted account, as deleted account cannot be restored.
Even though the blogs are all under one account, you can still choose where you want to Publicize it via Settings -> Sharing in your blog’s Dashboard.

Huh. Really. Okay. But the whole reason I made this whole username change was because I want to publicize “the heart of the matter to my personal Facebook page, and Sonoma Presence to my business Facebook page. I was unable to do that, because I was told at the forum that I’d have to split the blogs apart to publicize to two different pages. ???? Is this true? Am I back where I started?So why, when I hover over my name on the top right of the page, do two heart of the matters show up if skyeblaine doesn’t exist any more? Sorry, I just don’t understand this yet…
And the new heart of the matter shows a W symbol when I hover, and the old heart of the matter at the skyeblaine.wordpress.com shows the picture I want. How do I get that to change on the new one?

Publicize is controlled per blog, not per user, so you can set it as desired.
So why, when I hover over my name on the top right of the page, do two heart of the matters show up if skyeblaine doesn’t exist any more?
Because you have two separate blogs, each with the same title, which can be changed via Settings -> General in your blog’s Dashboard.
And the new heart of the matter shows a W symbol when I hover, and the old heart of the matter at the skyeblaine.wordpress.com shows the picture I want. How do I get that to change on the new one?
Your blog icon is also set via Settings -> General in your blog’s Dashboard.

making progress. Got icons changed. Got SonomaPresence blog sharing to proper SonomaPresence Facebook page.One last question, for now: the older “the heart of the matter” that is listed under http://www.skyeblaine.wordpress.com I really don’t want. It’s the same as the new one under http://www.amritaskye… but goes to a generic page, because I guess skyeblaine doesn’t really exist any more. Any danger in deleting it? I don’t want it. But if it took out my http://www.amritaskye blog I’d be really freaked out.

http://skyeblaine.wordpress.com/ is already empty, with the exception of the sample page that comes with every blog, which you can delete via the Pages section of your blog’s Dashboard.

I thought we were done. However, I went to skyeblaine.wordpress.com (the old blog) and created a page to send people to the new blog http://www.theheartofthematter-dailyreminders.orgbut when I click on that link, it returns me to the old page. What have I done wrong?

Yes, I did. It is not saving it, macmanx. This is weird, because I use links every day in my blog and they work fine. What’s going on? I’ve tried it four times–create the link, update the page, try the link, nothing. Go back in the link, no URL.
