changed username and now new name doesn't direct people to blog – what's up?

  I recently changed my user name (from cindyinhelena to westerner54), and was surprised to find that when I posted a comment on another blog and clicked on my link (“westerner54”) a message came up saying that “cindyinhelena” no longer exists. The authors have deleted the blog.” The blog is still there, under westerner54, and I would like people to be able to link to the blog from that address. Do I have to purchase something to do this? If so….annoying. What’s the story? Did I do something wrong? How can I fix it?

  If you had not chosen to delete the blog during the move, you would have been able to purchase a Site Redirect upgrade to direct traffic to your new blog.

  Now that the blog is deleted, this is no longer the case.

  As for any new comments that you leave, make sure that you Website field is set correctly via Users -> Personal Settings in your Dashboard.
