Changed wordpress site domain and want it back

  Hello,

  A few years ago I changed my site name on wordpress (the free one) due to my job and now I’d really like to change back but it says the name is unavailable.
  I’ve searched it and when you go on the website it says it was deleted by the user. I’m 99% sure that no one else has taken it since me, and wondered how I can get it back? I feel relatively certain that it’s coming up as unavailable because I used to have it.

  Any ideas? Its the only domain my grandad can remember!!
