Changed wordpress url and lost website

    Hi there,

    I’ve changed my WordPress url and now my entire account and website is gone. I tried to create a new account but I’m afraid I’m making the current situation worse.

    May I know how could I retrieve back my account?

    Hi Chloe,

    You being able to post on this forum means you are logged into an account and all your sites should be available when you go to click My Sites in the top left corner as long as you did not delete the site.

    May I know how could I retrieve back my account?

    Do you remember what the sites’ URL was before you changed it?
    It would be helpful if you let us know what you changed it to.

    Hi there,

    Your site is not hosted with us on WordPress.com, but using the open source WordPress.org software at another host.

    Changing the domain on a stand-alone WordPress site like yours has to follow a specific process. You can find the documentation for that process here, though many hosting providers have their own process for this via their hosting control panel.
