Change…please…

Am I the only one who thinks that we need some new choices, as far as themes.
They can say that themes come along only so often, but apparently they haven’t googled themes , because there’s a lot of them out there and there are quite a few that I would love to use.
that’s all. I’m not trying to put wp down, I just want some new themes that are little more prevalent to my style and the way that I want my page to look.Meg

Yes, they need to upload some new themes badly. I’m so tired of the one I’m using and I hate that they have not taken the time to give their users more choices!

Maybe WordPress can have more space or options for personalizing.
Otherwise, all the blogs appear like cousins. LOL~ -
For those who see WordPress.org themes and wish to recommend them:

Or you could shell out for custom CSS and just implement any of those googled themes you found on your own…
‘Cause, really, it’s $15 that WP could totally make good use of, and if a shiny new theme is that important to you, you can do it.

No, it doesn’t work that easily. Custom CSS is a fiddly thing. You can’t just paste in something from elsewhere; that will mess up your blog completely.

It should go something like this:
Spend a good semester learning CSS, then shell out for the upgrade, then spend a good deal of time tweaking and adjusting sandbox. -
And I want you keep the old ones. I want ANDREAS04 theme for WordPress 2.6 installed in private server and I cannot get it.
Is it that I have to install previous WP version? It makes no sense to me

There are literally thousands of themes out there for wordpress. That is true, but this service is based on WPMU (wordpress multi-user) and managing and altering thousands of themes on a regular basis so they are constantly compatible with the service and all the functionality of the service would be a nightmare. On top of that, letting users upload their own themes would also introduce security risks which staff won’t let happen. That is why there is a core of themes and I would imagine staff will be looking at threads like this for suggestions on what to do in the future.
There are quite a few CSS themes out there right now for wordpress.com blogs. The difficultly is usually finding them, but searching the forums, the main wordpress.com tags, google and other places for “customcss” for wordpress.com will find quite a few results for those with the custom CSS upgrade.
