Changes coming to WordPress.com
-
If you have not yet seen this http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2008/09/15/wordpress-27-navigation-options-survey/ I suggest everyone take a look at it. There are changes coming up to the user interface here at wordpress.com and you have a chance to take a survey and let your voices be heard.
My only suggestion: Look through it, take the survey and do it with an open mind and emotions in neutral.

The survey is also linked from http://wordpress.org/development as it will be implemented for every WordPress user.

I’d like:
– categories and tags to the side of, rather than below, the edit window on the Post page.
– my most frequently-accessed web admin pages to get their own links, above the regular dash links.
Pretty much everything else is a long way behind. If I can quickly get to a Post page that doesn’t annoy me, I’m happy. -

Also here is a link to a video that shows off the prototype dashboard

After taking the survey I though of something that I’ve passed along to Matt via email that I think would be a good idea.
At the top of the side menu would be a “My WordPress” entry. This would be user configurable so that you could put your most used admin items in there. As an example mine might contain:
Write Post
Manage Posts
Comments
Widgets
Akismet SpamThose are the ones I use most often and it would be great to have my normal “haunts” all on one menu.
