Changes in posts?

  I can not copy and paste anything into a post and I can not post a you tube video into a post anymore.
  This started this evening. Everything was fine this morning. My editor looks different tonight. Was there a change in wordpress today? The back end looks different.
  But I can not even post a video now.

  Hi there,

  Our team recently launched some improvements to the editor — I’m sorry for the trouble you’re having! Can you please describe the exact steps you’re taking to paste things and post videos in the editor? (It would help to know exactly where you start and what you click on while you’re doing it.)

  Thanks for responding.
  I have a fan site so all I do is post photos and videos. In the past I would find a video and copy the “embed” code and paste it into the post. Whatever you all did to wordpress now affects the ability to copy/paste ANYTHING into the post! I have to word for word, letter for letter transfer things into a post now.
  I have a self hosted site and That site did not change. I can copy and paste there still thank god!
  I have Safari, but in all honesty this has NOTHING to do with my browser, rather it has to do with the changes wordpress has done!
  I have tried to copy and paste anything I can find to test out what is working and what isn’t and unfortunately NOTHING pastes!.
  This is unacceptable! WordPress is actually making it HARDER and HARDER to post things and all it’s accomplishing is to move people to other platforms to blog. It is becoming to much work and to time consuming to use this FREE wordpress (which I pay for and will not continue to pay for after this change if not fixed) because my time is not worth this anymore.
  So aggrivating!!!

  Hi there,

  I’m very sorry for the frustration. The most recent changes are related to new updates that will be released soon for all sites running WordPress with the open-source software from WordPress.org. Sometimes the improvements that our team works on can run into glitches and bugs when they are first launched — I know that’s frustrating and I’d like to do what I can to help sort it out.

  It would really help me to know exactly what version of Safari you’re using, so I can test the problem on my end. That will help us identify what’s causing the trouble so we can fix it for you.

  I am running safari Version 6.1.5 (7537.77.4).

  Can you do this for me please. If YOU have wordpress, could you go to your own site and try to copy/paste the “embed” code into a post of your own site. After you try that, AND try to copy paste any text whatsoever I bet you will find the same.

  I honestly do not believe it has anything to do with anyones browsers and has EVERYTHING to do with this wonderful improvement wordpress has made. Could you please let me know if you find the same thing,

  Hey there!

  I’ve been doing some testing for you in Safari on a Mac. I’ve tested in the most current version of Safari, as well as the version you’re running.

  I’m now currently able to use the updated YouTube embed code process to paste code into new posts.

  Could you try again? As I’m not yet able to recreate the trouble you’re having, it’s possible that the developers were able to make adjustments since your last note.

  Since you have experienced problems with this recently, you’ll need to clear your Safari cache before trying again. Sound like you don’t need these steps, but if you’d like, here are instructions for cache clearing:

  We’ll get this issue ironed out for you asap. Whenever we make updates, there are a couple growing pains. Sorry you’ve had to deal with the trouble. On an upnote, once all fixes are made, I think (hope!) that you like the adjustments.

  I am posting an entire show tonight and don’t have time to look at what you sent me about youtube BUT I still am not able to copy and paste ANYTHING into my posts. So, how can we fix this? I cleared everything, that’s not the issue. the Issue is WordPresses changes. So how Do we fix this?

  I think I figured it out. I may have clicked on something called ‘plain text’ . I accidentally hit it again tonight and it dawned on me I did it the other night and I had no idea what that did. It was just a coincidence that it happened at the same time wordpress changed.
