Changes in URL make the website unavailable

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi! I have a website on the following URL: footballec.com that I edit through WordPress.

In the general settings, I changed the URLs (both, the website URL and WordPress URL too) and now my website is unavailable.

As you can see in this photo, these are the original settings. I have changed the http for https

So now I can not enter the WordPress website editor to change back these settings.

So please help me in this situation!

    Thank you for your help

    Hi there!

You’ve posted to the free support forums for websites hosted here at WordPress.com. Since your site is not hosted with us, we’re limited in what we can help with and advise. But I can get you pointed in the right direction to get help.

If you changed your URLs under Settings -> General without first configuring your SSL certificate at your hosting provider, that will break your site. The only way to fix it is to update those values via MySQL or contact your hosting provider for help in changing it back since they would also have access to your site’s database to fix this.

If you still have trouble, please reach out to the WordPress community for guidance:

    I hope that helps!
