Changes to plans and pricing links
-
We now have to click the website URL to get to the information that used to be conveniently found by clicking a single link. This is maddening when providing Volunteer support because the presumption is that all users already have blogs. In fact they don’t all have blogs. Some have username accounts only and have yet to register a blog when they are asking for plan details and pricing.
Please restore a page with all plans on it that can be reached with a single click whether or not one has registered a site.
Thanks, in advance, for listening to my feedback and acting on it.

I would also like to see this made crystal clear on the relevant pages.
There is no monthly payment plan here. All upgrades must be paid for in full at the time of purchase and we are billed annually.
In other words, please remove the monthly blah, blah, blah market speak. It’s confusing.

Hmm, I’m not sure I’m seeing what you’re seeing there. Can you step me through what you’re clicking on and what you expect to see?

I’ll share that feedback with Marketing. Thanks :)

@supernovia, if while logged in you click on the Plans link here https://wordpress.com/pricing/ you are now redirected to the New Dash to select a site. Before this change, logged in users also saw the full pricing plan that now only logged out users see.
-
…users see when clicking on that link (been a very long day here). You can test this by opening the link in a Private/Incognito window.

@justjennifer
Yes what you said here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/changes-to-plans-and-pricing-links?replies=5#post-2736043 is driving me up the wall.I will not be instructing any users without blogs to jump through any hoops like opening the link in a Private/Incognito window. Many do not even know how to set up their browsers and I will not be providing that support.

All these links
http://store.wordpress.com/bundles/
http://store.wordpress.com/plans/premium/
http://store.wordpress.com/plans/business/
http://store.wordpress.com/plans/pesonal/
now direct to the New Dash to select a site.Please revert the changes that have been made.

Thank you. I marked this as a favorite and will check back tomorrow. (I did that because I hate increasing my email load.)

@aupernovia
Thanks so much.
These links now direct where they used to
http://store.wordpress.com/bundles/
http://store.wordpress.com/plans/premium/
http://store.wordpress.com/plans/business/
http://store.wordpress.com/plans/pesonal/
so I’m a happy Volunteer now. -

@supernovia
Sorry about the typo above. I’m distracted by the baby I have on my knee and typed an “a” instead of an “s”. -
@supernovia-thanks for pointing to those discussions on github.
While it is important that the information on the above pricing page is visible to both logged out and logged in users, I do agree that it makes more sense for logged in users to be redirected to their own site or list of websites after clicking the “Start with X” button, instead of being directed to create a new site. (Just clicked and didn’t understand why I was being asked to create a new site.)
@tt – you might consider pointing to https://wordpress.com/pricing/ rather than the Store links you mentioned simply because they all redirect to https://wordpress.com/pricing/ On the other hand, the various links to Store in the WP Admin Dashboard (/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php) redirect to Plans in the New Dashboard.
Time to go to work. :)
-
@supernovia – just one more thought.
Maybe for logged in users the next screen after clicking the “Start with X” button, should be something along the lines of “do you want to create a new site or upgrade an existing site?” and then take it from there?
Now, off I go.

Note that the contents of the plans have changed significantly. You used to be able to get CSS editing in a ‘Custom Design’ plan that cost C$39 a year. The CSS option has now moved up to the Premium Plan which will cost over twice that.
-
@greylocks Custom Design was an individual upgrade. Those who already had the upgrade were allowed to keep it, but we have not offered it as an individual upgrade for a few years now.
The personal plan is new and includes several popular features including a domain. Hope that helps.
