Changes to Sela Theme

  Hi,

  I’ve just uploaded the Sela theme and have been busy customizing… Although I love the theme I don’t like the way the theme puts the blog graphic twice at the top of each post, it is looking confusing/ busy/ messy etc in the blog roll… How do I change the settings for it? I’m guessing it something simple I have overlooked!! Thanks in advance for your help.

  Hi!

  The issue here is that the Sela theme automatically adds the featured image to the top of the post as shown here:

  There are three ways to prevent the double images:

  1. Don’t set a featured image for each post. I wouldn’t recommend this method as the featured image is often what is used for social media sites when you share your posts.

  2. Refrain from also inserting your image within your post. So, in the example of this post, you would need to remove the image from the top of the text:

  https://mygoalsmyfuture.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=203&action=edit

  3. You can use some CSS to hide the featured image. That way, social media sites can still use the image when you share your posts, but it won’t appear on your site.

  This would be the CSS you would want to place under Appearance -> Customize -> CSS:

  .post-thumbnail {
  display: none;
  }

  Can you let me know which method you would like to use going forward?

  Thanks Jeremey!

  I ended up using option 1 and removed the feature image. Not ideal as I have little d control over the image on FB… but better than the reader being unable to read my content :)
