Changes to Styles>Layout not updating on website.

    Heres the problem: On my blog, there’s blank space between my header and the top of the page.

    I did some research and realized that under Styles>Layout, there was top padding. I changed those settings to 0, and that solved the problem in the WordPress editor, but when I save and visit my website, the padding is still there. I’ve tested, and the rest of my website is updating normally; the only thing that won’t update is the layout padding. Any suggestions? I’m using the ‘Twenty Twenty-Three’ theme.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hey there! I’ve done a little investigating, and it seems like the theme just adds its own little envelope of padding on top of anything done in the site editor.

    I’m not positive yet whether that’s intentional with this theme or whether it’s a bug to fix, so we’ll keep investigating. From what I’ve seen so far, it looks like it’s avoidable if you want to switch to another theme and copy your layout into that. I’m not sure whether that would be worth the work in this case.

    Or, you’ll be upgrading the site at some point to add a shop, you could add this CSS to get rid of the padding:

    .wp-site-blocks {
        padding-top: 0;
    }

    That would work with the Premium Plan and higher.

    We’ll also keep digging into whether this is a bug to address, and we’ll keep you updated if we find more info. Cheers!

  • Oh! I do want to point out too, if you’re making this edit in the Global Styles feature, that isn’t available on free sites at all. It will show you what the site could look like, but you’ll need to upgrade to apply to the live site. So that may be what’s happening here, too. If that’s the case, the Premium plan or higher will grant you that control. I hope that helps!

    Ah, that explains it. I’ll keep things as is for now until I upgrade to premium. Thanks!
