Changing a blog address

    I am seeking to transfer a blog to another site (an example.wordpress.com) site. But I also want to keep the original site for a new site (the next version of the site). If I go into the ‘My Sites’ section as per the instructions and change it, will I be able to go and re-register the original domain with wordpress? Or do I lose it in the act of changing the domain name.

    Hi Jen –

    Have you already added the new .wordpress.com address to your account?

    I want to make sure I understand your goal before I hand out advice though.

    The content from the original site can be exported and then imported on to a new site. You could then clear the original to make way for a new design and content there. Does that sound like what you want to achieve? Thanks.
