Changing a Blog to an ordinary web-site

Only just started with WordPress (yesterday) and I appear to have set up a Blog when what I actually want is a plain web-site. I have tried to delete the blog section but unable to do so. What to do please ?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There is not much difference between a blog and a website.
Theoretically speaking, a blog is a chronological display of your blog posts with recent post first. While a website could be anything from a single page to multiple pages.
A website is a larger aspect and blog could also be a part of your website.If you wish to create a website with multiple pages and not just blog posts, start with making your homepage static.
