Changing a picture without losing the templates function

  • Unknown's avatar

There is a stock picture on my ‘About’ page. If I change the picture it overwrites the white pattern that seems to overlay the existing picture. I like the look of the affect, but I don’t know how to re-create it, or get the picture to show up behind the pattern.
    Thanks,
    Jen.

  • Hi Jen,

That pattern is an image superposed on the image, you can see it here.

I’d guess you can reapply it with CSS after you’ve changed the image. I’d suggest you swap the images and, if you need help with the CSS, try asking at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/.

Here, we can only help with sites hosted on our servers, or those using themes developed by us.

Just to clear any possible confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities. WordPress.com is a cloud-based platform where we manage WordPress sites, whereas WordPress.org is stand-alone software that you can download and self-host with any other hosting.

You can find more details about WordPress.com and WordPress.org on this support page:

    https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/.

    I hope that helps :)
