changing a theme : my dashboard doesn’t show the same pathway or search bar as the tutorial

    Hi
    The wordpress tutorial shows a dashboard that offers personalize – themes
    mine shows appearance – themes
    the youtube and wordpress tutorials show the search bar saying What kind of themes are you looking for?
    when I follow the route appearance – themes – it shows the theme I currently use and a few more options, scrolling past these to advanced themes there’s a search bar for ‘I’m creating a site for a portfolio, magazine, business, blog.’ But this doesn’t let me search for a specific theme – I want oceanwp
    so how do I navigate to find a theme?

    Hi Nick! One thing you’ll want to bear in mind: WordPress.com is a bit different from managing your own DIY copy of WordPress with a different host. So you’ll see some differences there:

    For help with a site hosted here, I’d recommend the resources here:
    https://wordpress.com/support/

    For sites hosted elsewhere, generally the resources at https://wordpress.org/support/ will be best, though your host may have their own special configuration, and plugins can modify things, too.

    Regarding OceanWP: when you want to install outside themes or plugins our managed hosting service, you will need our Business plan, because outside code adds complexity to our support and maintenance.
