Changing a username back

Hey. I briefly changed my username on another site of mine and decided to just make a new account with that new username. Problem is, my new site is saying that username is unavailable even though I freed it from my old site. I know some previous forums are saying there is no way to recover an old username but I just wanted to be absolutely sure because, quite frankly, it’s a huge inconvenience.

I’m sorry, it’s not possible to free a username on WordPress.com. Usernames are not recycled at all, and cannot be used again. I’m very sorry that you changed your username!

Once you change your username you will not be able to change it back and the old name will not be available for you or anyone to use.
