Changing a WordPress.com domain
-
Hello,
I just registered a new blog with a custom domain (theunmarriedhousewife.com). However, when I look at my domains on my dashboard the wordpress.com domain is listed as “theunmarriedhousewifedotcom.wordpress.com”
I would like to change the wordpress.com domain to “theunmarriedhousewife.wordpress.com”. How do I do this?
Thanks!

Ask the staff nicely to transfer the domain mapping – I have flagged this for staff attention to help you

There is is a Transfer to another site option under
Dashboard >> Store >> My Upgrades – but I am not able to find any info on it and I have not used it so I am reluctant to do any more than just note that the option is there and might work

You know, I wanted to contact support directly, but haven’t been able to find any “contact us” link in order to do so… Any ideas?

Hi there,
Your underlying blog URL is theunmarriedhousewifedotcom.wordpress.com, and your custom domain for that site is theunmarriedhousewife.com; all your users will see is the custom domain – not the underlying blog URL.
Since your users won’t see this, it isn’t necessary to change it. However, if you would like to do so, you can by following these instructions:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/I hope that helps!
