Changing address : which username option

  Hi,
  I wish to change the address of my blog to:
  purcellassociates.wordpress.com

  but I do not know which option to select re Username, i.e
  whether to choose new user name or not. I just want to change the *address*, that’s all. Can you please advise ?

  Ok. I deleted the purcellandassociates.wordpress.com blog. (Note the *and*)

  I may have submitted this already so please excuse if you have it already.

  I cannot find purcellassociates.wordpress.com (note: no *and*) which I created in the last few days. I may have forgotten which username/ email I used when creating it.
  Can you please advise ? I need to access it.

  I get the message

  The authors have deleted this site

  so it’s gone forever

  That is correct as I said above .

  I need to find the *username* or email I used when creating the 2nd blog, (a replacement) namely purcellassociates.wordpress.com. (note: no *and*) . I thought I had it written down but have obviously made a mistake.

  Are you sure ? when I last checked, it said it had already been created.(I was trying to create it anew)

  Ok. I need help on this. We need that address purcellassociates.wordpress.com which we created earler.

  Can you please advise on how I might proceed.

  Ok. That’s a problem so. I am trying to think of what I can do here.
  Are the addresses case-sensitive ? probably not.

  I have read your support pages . I understand about not reusing deleted addresses.

  We will probably need to come up with a different address.
  Maybe purcell&associates.
  Boss was keen to have purcellassociates because it helps with SEO etc.

  Another thing you could do is purchase domain mapping and have something like purcellandassociates.com instead of purcellandassociates.wordpress.com

  BTW I don’t think that “&” is legal in a name – and I am a fellow blogger on the forums not WordPress staff!

  &: had not thought of that.

  We already have a domain: http://www.purcellassociates.net
  so we would like to have purcellassociates as a ‘block’ for SEO reasons.
  I am checking what is available and there a couple at least:

  purcellassociatesblog
  purcellassociatescork

  But I’m not sure if they are useful for SEO. Also we cannot use a period .
  We will think about it.

  The other thing you can do is subdomain mapping. Since you already own purcellassociates.net you could map the blog to a subdomain, such as blog.purcellassociates.net or news.purcellassociates.net or whatever you like.

  I am not an SEO expert but I think that a meaningful subdomain name could only help.
