Changing Administrator email address

  We had our website created by a design agency and I have tried to change the administrator email address to mine – it says that the request is pending but I have not received notification that this has been done.

  I’m afraid that your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with another company.

  Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers.   Siteground host our site so does this mean if I wanted to make any amendments to the Themes template that the developer did for us – I would also need to go through Siteground or I could amend the template in my own dashboard area?

  When I go to create a new team member the developer has added a team meta field group area where you can add a job title and email address. I would really like the email address to be clickable and open up a new window creating a new email. I have changed the settings from text text to email address as I thought this might work but it hasn’t changed anything.

  I don’t know what type of support Sitegrounds provide, but it sounds like you’ll want to either reach out to your developer or add the changes to the site yourself (I’s suggest creating a child theme, rather than working on the original theme directly).
