How can I change blog administrators?
-
I am the owner of Afikomen Judaica, a Jewish lifestyle and bookstore in Berkeley CA. It occurred to me to start a blog about the store and I searched online and found someone had set up a blog with my store’s logo…
I contacted them through the blog and she has been trying to get the Admin email to change to my email, so that I will have Admin access to the blog. She has sent me screen shots of where she inserted my email address [e-mail removed by staff] that indicate a message will be sent for confirmation of new Admin access. No email has ever arrived.
Once several months ago when I started this process, I got an email from WordPress and when I followed the link it asked me to Log In, which I did with my WordPress username and password and an error message was shown on the screen.
Please help me get access to this blog.
Thanks.
Chaim

Hi Chaim,
The current administrator should be able to change the admin e-mail address by going to the blog’s Dashboard > Users > Personal Settings page and inserting your e-mail in the “E-mail” text box and clicking “Save.”
You will then receive a confirmation e-mail to approve this change.
If you do not see the confirmation e-mail in your inbox, can you try checking for it in your Spam/Junk mail folder?

I think this is what’s happening; When the Admin is requesting to change emails, the link to a login page comes to my email. When I login with my username, I get an error message that says ‘cheatin?’. I think the program is wanting the current Admin to log in to confirm the email change as it is not recognizing me as associated with the blog. Thoughts?

Yes, it does want you to log is as the current user – I’m afraid I misunderstood!
If the site’s admin wants to transfer the blog to your personal WordPress account, they can do that by following the directions available here:
