Changing an A record

I purchased a domain name from Network Solutions andam using wordpress.com to host the domain name. I then purchased email addresses from NW Solutions. I tried changing the DNS records but still cannot access email. NW Solutions says that they can change the A record for me to solve the problem. Is this possible and if so, where can I find the A record?

You can add an A record to your domain via your Store -> Domains page by clicking on the Edit DNS link.

But how do I get the A record for my wordpress account to give to Network Solutions so the email works?

Network Solutions should be able for provide you with any custom DNS records, such as MX records, that you’ll need to add to your WordPress.com account.
To clarify, is Network Solutions trying to add an A record on their end? If so, you can let them know that we’re able to add custom DNS records to your WordPress.com account to get your mail working again.

Evarlese, I tried adding custom DNS records and I was able to enter and save them to my wordpress account but the email is still not working. This was almost a week ago. I emailed the records to help@wordpress.com and referenced my original help topic because another staff member said they would look and see if I had entered them correctly. This was last Friday and I haven’t gotten a response.

The MX record was correct, but the CNAMEs weren’t. I have just changed those, but depending on how often your ISP refreshes their DNS cache, it can take up to 72 hours to take effect.
