  How do I get to convert the :arrow: smiley to this image instead? :

  Where is the the :arrow:smiley on your site? I didn’t see it when looking at http://apocryphea.wordpress.com/ .

  It’s a ‘default’ smiley available to all WP users

  According to this article it can be changed : http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Smilies

  But my brain melts xD

  The article you reference is for self-hosted WordPress sites, not sites hosted here on WordPress.com. We cannot make that change here.
