Changing background colour of columns

  Have you tried logging out of IE, clearing the cache and cookies and then restarting IE to see if it is just a caching issue?

  Also, what version of IE?

  it’s version 8, yeah i’ve cleared and it’s still not transparent. Everything else is transparent on the page, just not the box where you post in.

  OK, you have to add the same stuff (opacity and filter) to the .post section. In fact, I would suggest you set the background color in .post to “none” .

  Actually, change it from background-color to just background as below.

  background: none repeat scroll 0 0 transparent;
