Changing background colour of wordpress slideshow

  I was wondering if there is a way to make the background colour of the slideshow option that wordpress offers.
  Currently it comes up as black and very large border around the images.

  So i was wondering if there was a way to either change the colour from black to white.
  Or resize the border of it so that the black around the slideshow cannot be seen.

  Any help would be much appreciated.
