Changing Barnsbury Theme to Hestia Theme
-
I chose Hestia as the theme for my new WordPress.com Mastery Journal (a class project in a master writers class). When I created the site, it appeared that to get started I had to select one of the installed themes and then change it out for the theme I want to use, Hestia. I chose the Barnsbury theme. But now I cannot figure out how to replace the Barnsbury theme with the Hestia theme. I did a search and found some instructions, but they say to click on the “Add New” button on WordPress under Appearance>Themes, but all I get is a list of the installed themes in WordPress with Barnsbury listed as “Activated.” How do I replace the Barnsbury theme?

Hi there,
Hestia is a theme created by an outside company called Themeisle, and is “designed for WordPress” but is not offered on WordPress.com. Instead you download it directly from the company that created it here
Please note that it is not possible to upload 3rd party themes and/or plugins on our free WordPress.com sites. That is possible if you upgrade to our business plan however. Learn more about our WordPress.com Business Plan here: https://wordpress.com/pricing/
WIthout upgrading, it is possible to use any of our “pre-installed” themes offered here: https://wordpress.com/themes/
From that list you may want to consider Exford, which is similar: https://wordpress.com/theme/exford
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
