Changing blog address

  How can I change the address to http://alexmwhitmer.wordpress.com ?

  I tried via general setings, and see an option in delete, but a little chicken to try.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hello, there’s no need to do the Delete Site. All you will need to do is go into Dashboard>My Blogs. There you will see the site address you want to change, as you hover over that, under the address two options will appear, change blog address or transfer site. You will want to click on Change Blog Address. Hope this helps.

  i just did that and all my pages and everything are gone. Did I just wipe out all my stuff??

  And, the address is still starvingdramaturge, not alexmwhitmer.

  Somebody, please tell me I didn’t just throw 7 years of work in the trash

  starvingdramaturge.wordpress.com doesn’t exist

  Thankyou, Timethief, I see it. I see it’s admin end of url. Are all the starving dramaturge links now dead? How will folks find this?

  Can I post thjis link in the film forums now as my new address?

  Yes, auxclass, it is empty, so I guess that means the old link is dead. ??, and that’s what freaked me out. Can I put my new url in there for folks to click on to get to new url??

  If you changed the address / moved the content from /thestarvingdramaturge.wordpress.com/ to /alexmwhitmer.wordpress.com/

  You have a couple of options –

  Put a note in /thestarvingdramaturge.wordpress.com/ that you have moved to /alexmwhitmer.wordpress.com/

  Or you can buy a site redirect upgrade for $ 13.- / year (one year should do it) from /thestarvingdramaturge.wordpress.com/ to /alexmwhitmer.wordpress.com/

  Yes, I should get a redirect. I’m sure I’ll lose some visits here, but kinda had to be done.
