Changing Blog Address

  Hello, recently i signed up for the Blogging U courses. I did an audit of my site and realised that I need to make my brand name for consistent.
  Therefore, i want to change my address from shortinsight.wordpress.com to another name.
  I currently have 72 people following my original blog. I have published over 15 posts.
  If I follow the procedure and change my domain name, will the 72 followers be still following me?

  If not, do I need to pay for the site re-direct?

  Hi there!

  Your WordPress.com blog address is what people use to access your blog. An example of your WordPress.com blog address is shortinsight.wordpress.com. This document explains how you can change the shortinsight part of the address to something else.

  The final option on the Change Blog Address screen allows you to discard your current address. This option will permanently disable the address and you will not be able to reuse it. Only select this option if you are sure you will not use the address again. If you want to redirect traffic to the new blog, you can keep the address and purchase the Site Redirect upgrade.

  So what your saying is:

  If I change my name then the 72 followers will not automatically be transferred unless I purchase the Site Redirect Upgrade?

  The only other way is to inform all those following me of my new address and hope they follow again.

  Do I understand that correctly?
