Changing blog address, some questions

    Hi,

    My blog is http://www.dicere-wakab.net. Now I want to change this site name to http://www.dicere-tobeinn.net and keep all the materials posted there. I’ve read the different tutorials but I still don’t know…

    – in order to change the blog address: is it the same process for a free wordpress domain than for a .net domain?
    – will I have to pay again for the new .net domain?
    – the old links to posts on http://www.dicere-wakab.net that I shared before in Linkedin or Twitter will be re-directed automatically to my new site http://www.dicere-tobeinn.net?

    No, the process is different because it’s not possible to modify the wording or spelling of a custom domain after it’s registered – you’ll need to register a new domain.

    Yes, you’ll need to purchase a new domain.

    If you want to be sure links to your old domain continue to work, I suggest continuing to renew your old domain and keeping it mapped to your WordPress.com site.

    Once you register the second domain under Store > Domains, you can set it as the primary domain by selecting the radio button next to it.

    The old domain will continue to work as well, but visitors will only see the new one in the browser’s address bar.
