changing blog name

I want to change the name of my blog, to one I just reserved, without loosing my followers and everything on the existing blog. What is the correct way to do that?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Are you wanting to change the name of the blog malindaandlamorna.wordpress.com to something else, or are you wanting to change the address/URL to a custom domain like malindaandlamorna.com? Or are you wanting to move your site to a different hosting provider?
If you simply change the blog name itself, or if you add a custom domain, you will not lose any content or your followers.

Jackie, thank you for responding. We just simply want to change the name, to match the new name of our “enterprise” and new URL. We just bought “wegoforgood.com” pointed it to the current blog for now, and reserved “wegoforgood.wordpress.com”, and want to change the blog to that name, so they line up. But we don’t want to loose our followers so far (we are just beginning).

To do this, you will need to purchase domain mapping and map the wegoforgood.com domain to malindaandlamorna.wordpress.com. That way your site doesn’t need to move or change, and your visitors will see wegoforgood.com in their browser bar.

You can also change the site title in Settings > General.
If you want to use wegoforgood.wordpress.com as the base WordPress.com site, since that address has already been created, you will need to do an export of your content at malindaandlamorna.wordpress.com and import it into wegoforgood.wordpress.com, and you will need to redo your theme and all settings. Once that has been done, I could transfer your followers, but your stats will start over from scratch.

Thank you again for all your help. We have exported and imported our data, and are waiting for the email confirmation. Please do transfer our followers from malindaandlamorna.wordpress.com to wegoforgood.wordpress.com

One more question. We won’t be using togoforgood.wordpress.com which we reserved. Is there a way to release it back into the pool of available names?

No. Deleted blog URLs are never recycled here.

You may wish to set malindaandlamorna.wordpress.com to private; otherwise, you may still collect followers there.
