Changing blog name

  I want to know if the followers will be redirected to the new blog name if I decide to change it. So instead of happiness.wordpress.com, I would change it to greatness.wordpress.com. Please advise, thank you!

  Hi there,

  Yes, your followers will be able to see the new WordPress.com URL in their Reader and in their email if they are subscribed to your blog via email.

  However, unless you purchase a site redirect upgrade if they visit happiness.wordpress.com, they’ll receive a notice that the site has been deleted.

  So, I would either contact your followers and let me know of the change if you do not want to purchase the upgrade, or purchase the upgrade – especially if you have a lot of followers that are used to your old site address.
