Changing blog name

    Hi. I want to change my blog address. I use the free plan, so the wordpress.com part is still part of the url which is ok. I just want to change name, NOT upgrade to a custom domain. However, I’m still confused as to what happens to my site if i do so. Will my comments/posts/followers/any other data wipe out?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there! You do not have to upgrade to a custom domain or purchase a redirect upgrade to change your blog address. You can see a step by step guide HERE.

    Pay careful attention to the steps concerning your username and existing blog address. If you change your username, you will not be able to get the old name back in the future.

    You will not lose any data that resides on your site, but unless you choose to keep the current address (and purchase a redirect upgrade), any links to your old address, including search engine results, will be broken.
