Changing Blog Name to another Blog Name you already own

When I first joined wordpress, I acquired two domain names myfamilyandotheroddities and oneshotextrahot. I started using myfamilyandotheroddities and left oneshotextrahot hidden on my dashboard.
I now want to change the name of my blog from myfamilyandotheroddities to oneshotextra hot. When I follow the steps for changing my blog’s name is says that oneshotextrahot has already been taken ( by me!)
WordPress things that oneshotextrahot is already taken but I also know that I can’t delete it from my account and then ‘buy’ it back.
Is there any way round this? I was also planning on buying the site upgrade too.

Do you mean that you want to have your site (design and contents, with no change) but instead of having it be at http://myfamilyandotheroddities.wordpress.com/ you want it to be what you see if you go to http://oneshotextrahot.wordpress.com/ instead?
What of the content at http://oneshotextrahot.wordpress.com/ now? You want to delete it, or are you wanting to merge the content from both sites into one?

You’ve got it in a nutshell.
I’ve never done anything with oneshotextreahot.wordpress.com except to register it therefore I don’t save any of its content.
But I do want to transfer everything from myfamilyandotheroddities.wordpress.com onto oneshotextrahot.wordpress.com and have it look exactly as myfamilyandotheroddities.wordpress.com looks now.

Gotcha, thanks for clarifying. So what I have done is basically switch the site addresses, so if you go to http://oneshotextrahot.wordpress.com/ you will see that it has the same design/contents as http://myfamilyandotheroddities.wordpress.com/ and vice versa.
With that in mind, you may want to:
- delete or set http://myfamilyandotheroddities.wordpress.com/ to “Private” to take it offline.
- update the site title for http://oneshotextrahot.wordpress.com/ in Settings>General.
- or leave the two sites switched, as they are now, and keep on blogging! :)

Also, what happens to my email/ wordpress followers on myfamilyandotheroddities. Will I have effectively lost them? Will they have to re-sign up to oneshotextrahot?

I’ve had a bit of time to look at the sites properly. I’m afraid the switch hasn’t been a complete success.
Lots of my photographs haven’t come across in the links. Nearly all previous blog posts have missing or broken images in them.
When I did a new post on oneshotextrahot last night, my followers did receive an email. But when they clicked onto it, it tried to take them to myfamilyandotheroddities – therefore they couldn’t read the post.
I’m feeling a bit stressed with it all, especially with the missing images, broken links and loss of email followers. Is it too late to abandon this idea altogether and revert back to how things were before? ie. swap the sites back! I can always attempt to change the blog name to a brand new name in the future, once things are fixed again.
