Changing blog template from “page” to “index”
-
Hello! I’m trying to change my blog layout and like the “index” template option. However, when I try to “swap template” as I’m editing my blog (currently a “page” template), the index template doesn’t show. Am I missing something? I use the Assembler theme…I wonder if that’s affecting things. Thoughts? Thank you in advance!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Solution for anyone looking for an answer to the same problem: I used a workaround, instead creating a New Page (“blog posts” style) where I was able to choose from some pre-made blog templates. I then did some tailoring to add in features I wanted to keep from my previous layout.
However, the new blog page has a different url slug. (So instead of julieisrael.com/blog it’s something else). Advantage: I like that this actually preserves my previous go at a blog. I’m thinking that if I can just change its url slug and unpublish Blog Layout 1, I can then use that slug (julieisrael.com/blog) for my new one.
I’ll wait to mark this as resolved until I’m ready to test this.
