Changing blog title in RSS feed list

  Hello!

  I’m hoping that someone can tell me how I can change the way the title of my organization’s blog appears in recipients’ RSS feed lists. Right now, when someone subscribes to our blog’s RSS feed, the web address of our blog appears as the title in their feed list. Instead of recipients seeing the URL, we would like them to see the name of our blog.

  So, for instance, now they would see “siteabc.wordpress.com” as the title and we would rather them see “Site ABC”

  I know that they can manually change the title of the RSS feed themselves, but is there a way we can control this ourselves?

  Hi–unfortunately it’s not public yet. We are launching it publicly on November 1st and want to make sure that everything is how we want it, including how our visitors see our site in their RSS list. Does it need to be public to resolve this problem?

  Well, without a link to your blog, there is no way that we can see the problem. And we can’t tell if you are even in the right forum. (And if your blog is set to private, there is no RSS feed, so you may not be hosted here.)

  Thanks for your willingness to help, but we’ve resolved the problem.

  We were using a header image that incorporated our site name (rather than entering a title on the Settings->General page). Because that spot was blank, the blog url was used to name the RSS feed. When we type in our blog name on the page mentioned above, that same name becomes the title of the RSS feed in our lists.

  I figured that was the problem.

  But you have to understand that there are at least 3 versions of WordPress out there and this forum is only for blogs hosted at wordpress.COM. If you don’t provide a link to your blog, there is no way for volunteers in the forum to help you, since we have no way to determine whether you are hosted here or not. We get quite a number of questions posted here that relate to the other versions of WP and our answers don’t apply. So if you want the help of those here in the forum, please be aware that you may not get any unless you provide the blog address.
