changing blog to become publically viewed

  Hi,
  I’m new to WordPress so any help would be appreciated. I would like to change the blog I created from a “invite members to follow you” to an open site where anyone can visit (whether they have been invited or not). I have scoured the site and not seen anything that shows me how to change my settings from a “private” site to a “public” one. Can you help me?
