Changing Caps to Lower Case
-
Hello, CSS Gurus! I’m trying to change just the ending letter case, for my site title. It currently appears as HUDSONCHEMICALS.COM, but I’m wanting to make it appear as HUDSONCHEMICALS.com. Can anybody help?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hey, micawbr. I did, but wondered about the “none” part of the code. Lol
I’m trying to change the .COM, to .com, but leave the rest (HUDSONCHEMICALS) caps. Can I do that?
-
Also, noticing an entire thread here, had been deleted. I dropped a link, as a personal note, for my music. Only because the gentleman was kind enough to tell me he hoped I had a quick recovery from my cancer troubles. It wasn’t meant as spam, but I believe it was (unfortunately) perceived that way. Please pass on my apologies, if you would. He’s in Hawaii, from what I read. Thanks, for helping with both matters involved here.

I’m under two different accounts. I’m admin for hudsonchemicals.com, and my own; I just realized I’m commenting under. Good grief. I just need help. Lol

Okay. Now I know why that topic had disappeared. Um…yeeeeeh. My brain isn’t working! Lol

Hi hudsonchemicals
I just tested the CSS that micawbr gave you and it seemed to work perfectly. The ‘: none’ part of the code is basically saying “no transform” – to override the ‘text-transform: uppercase;’ part of the original theme CSS.
Let me know if this works for you.
.site-title { text-transform: none; }To add custom CSS
Select Appearance > Customize > CSS from your Admin Dashboard and enter the custom CSS there.
You need to be on the WordPress.com Premium Plan for custom CSS to save.

Went through, without a hitch..Exact same code, but it worked immediately. Strangely awesome! Thank you BOTH!!

Can I address another issue, or should I submit a new inquiry? I need to shift the site’s tagline to right align under the site title itself. I’d also like to adjust it’s color some; to pop more.
-
Glad it worked :)
I don’t think you need to open a new thread. Add the following custom CSS to float the tagline right and change the color.
You can change the color of the text by replacing #F63 with a color code of your choice. http://www.w3schools.com/tags/ref_colorpicker.asp is a great site to find new color codes.
.site-description { color: #F63; float: right; } -
Thanks much, g471n! Definitely appreciate the same thread help. The site keeps getting better, with even mild CSS. I really dig it! :)

I have a few more questions, g471n. Can I place a logo inside the menu’s container? I’d like it to show, almost all the way to the left (https://hudsonchemicalsdotcom.files.wordpress.com/2015/11/hudson4goog.gif). I’d also like to change the info that populates on the post tabs Newsworthy has; on the top left of each post. I will be making a catalog, and need the tab to show the category or post title. I’d also like the option to change the color, though I might leave it in the default yellow. Thanks!

Quick Notation: I’m trying to remove the date of the post, from the tabs, specifically. I realize the title, or category, will be cut short; That’s fine.

I lied (sorry), I do have a couple mobile questions. Can I get the link flash color (when a link or menu item is selected on mobile) to change from the default red, to match the #F63 color of the page & post titles. Also, I guess (if the logo thing can even be done) the logo needs to align right. The top left mobile menu would be in the way, on the left. Okay, that’s all. :)
-
Nope, one more..I’d also like the align right change, of the site description, to show on mobile. :)
-
OK, the first bit is easy. Replace your lines of custom CSS for #site-navigation with this:
#site-navigation { position: fixed; z-index: 9999; background-image: url("https://hudsonchemicalsdotcom.files.wordpress.com/2015/11/hudson4goog.gif"); background-size: contain; background-repeat: no-repeat; } -
For the post tabs:
To remove the date info this should work.
.date-meta { display: none; } -
Creating your own custom tags is a bit more fiddly and will require you to add a line of custom CSS for each tag/post.
I don’t think there is a way to automatically populate the the tag with the category info using CSS.
It would be something like this:
.post-104 .author-meta:before { content: "Cleaning Chemicals"; } -
All working great! Thank you!! I’ll try the post specific tag info, as I produce those pages. You’re AWESOME!! :)
