Changing colour of part of the site title (oneword)

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi,
    Hope this is in the right place. I have changed my logo recently which means life reflexology becomes one word in the site title but reflexology is in bold.
    Is there anyway I can do this using the css.

    I have already changed the font size and colour of the site title and tag line.

    Many thanks

    Hey there,

    Because this title section is actually hard coded in you are unfortunately unable to edit it’s structure to create the selectors that will allow you to select certain portions of it for styling.

    However, I have come up with a workaround. If you would like only a portion of the text, “life” to be different then the remainder, “reflexology” remove the word “life” from the title so it becomes only “reflexology”. Then add the following CSS:

    .site-title:before {
        content: "life";
        display: inline;
    }

    With this in place you can now style each portion as you would like.

    For future reference though, this site is a self-hosted WordPress.org site rather than WordPress.com.

    If you are in need of any further support for your self-hosted website you may be able to find an answer on the WordPress.org support page at the link provided: https://wordpress.org/support/ or as an alternative you may want to contact your hosting provider.

    Hopefully this helps!

    Cheers

    And you are a genius! I wish I had taken up web design as well as reflexology! Have a g8 weekend.
