Changing colour of various things in 'Hammer'
-
Hi,
I’m using the ‘Hammer’ theme: https://wordpress.com/theme/hammer/lewisthompsonsound.wordpress.com
Im trying to use CSS to make it a darker colour theme to match my existing artwork/branding etc. I managed to figure out how to change background/page/menu colour but I’m getting stuck with how to change the colour of various things. Some things I’d like to change, for example:
-the horizontal lines at the top and bottom of the page
-the title header colour
-the ‘rollover’ colour when hovering over a link/title/menu item
-main body-font colour site wideHeres a screenshot of what I mean:

Ideally I’d like to have full colour control of everything, so any help/advice would be appreciated!
Thanks

Hi! It looks like you must have managed a few of those changes already. Do you need more help?
Generally speaking, I’d recommend starting in the customizer, as that’ll take care of most of the changes.
Then, use these tips to find the code for various page elements:
https://wordpress.com/support/how-to-find-your-themes-css/There’s a video at the bottom of the page that’s especially helpful.
Also, when you edit the pages in a block editor, note most items there will have color control settings as well.
If you’ve gone through those options and still need help changing an element’s color, let us know what you’ve tried and we’ll help you sort it out.
Cheers!
