Changing contact for my wordpress-registered domain

  I successfully followed the instructions to get into Domain Manager, but the Contact button is disabled.

  What I am trying to do is to set up via pobox.com an email address customised to my wordpress-registered domain; pobox.com has sought verification that I own the domain by contacting the administrator’s address at domainsbyproxy. I was hoping that by following the wordpress explanation, I’d be able to change the administrator’s address to my own. I hope that I’m aiming in the right direction!

  Hey there,

  As you’ve opted to purchase domain privacy with your domain, you aren’t able to edit the contact details associated with the domain.

  If you’d like to change the contact information, you’ll need to cancel private whois–you can do this via the Store -> My Upgrades page in your dashboard. Just click the “Cancel Private Whois” link under your domain.

  That’s great, thanks P for your help.

  Oh well, I thought the privacy option was a good thing; didn’t think through the possible consequences. Hopefully I’ll be able to get up and running with my email now.
