Changing currency from EUR to USD
-
Hi I’m having the same problem. I’m trying to purchase a plan and live in US, but I see euro currency. My blog is kkovaci.wordpress.com. Can you please make the currency in US dollar?
-
Hi there!
I’ve moved your request to its own thread.
You should now also see the updated currency on your account. Do you need any help choosing the plan? I’ll be happy to help!

Hi Thanks a lot for your help! I purchased the domain kkovaci.com, however I meant for it to be for my website kkovaci.wordpress.com. Instead, the domain I purchased is an empty dummy website.
How can I move or link my paid domain to be for my current website kkovaci.wordpress.com and not an empty random second website?
Thank you

Also, I updated my kkovaci.wordpress site to the personal plan, which means it comes with a free domain. The domain that I’m using for it is kkovaci.com but I had already paid $19 for my kkovaci.com domain. Can I be refunded for the $19 since this payment was made by mistake?
Sorry, WordPress has been extremely confusing between plans and domains, and I’m afraid I made a big miss with the payments, and still have no idea what’s going on with my sites, account, domain, plan and website name. :(((
Also, is there a better way of getting help without posting my website problems on the board for everyone to see? I’m sure nobody cares about the issues I’m having and don’t want to spam. But I do want the issue resolved as soon as possible. So thanks a lot!

Hi! The forum is here to help you – it’s totally OK to post here :) Otherwise you can always head to the form at https://wordpress.com/help/ to send a request through that; the Contact button there opens up our Help Center where you can choose how to contact us (forums/email etc).
I definitely see that you’ve been able to move the kkovaci.com domain over to your
kkovaci.wordpress.comsite but I don’t see the $19 domain registration on your account; it appears that the domain (as it is now) was covered by our ‘free domain in first year’ offer.Do you happen to have any receipt (emailed, or within your Billing History at https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/billing ) for the $19 charge?
-
Hi and thank you so much for your great help! Good to see the domain and website are now linked. And yes, I see now that I have not been charged for that $19.
But the issue remaining is that I have 2 subscriptions for next year:
-one for the domain – $19 for next year — the kkovaci.com domain is still linked to this, and
-one for the wordpress.com personal plan (which comes with a free domain) at $48 next year.

How can I permanently move kkovaci.com to be registered to my wordpress.com Personal plan so that I don’t have to pay an additional $19 for that domain next year? Since that domain should just be included with the free Personal plan?
Many thanks!

Hi there,
Your current plan includes a free domain for the first year. This means that when you purchase a plan, we cover the cost of one domain name registration for the first year. However, beginning from the second year onwards, the domain name renewal is billed separately from your plan.
I hope this clarifies things for you. If you have any more questions, don’t hesitate to ask. We’re here to help you every step of the way.

Hello and thank you so much for the great clarification! I have one final question: the full price for both domain and website plan is expensive. Does WordPress sometimes offer discounts, sales, or coupons for renewing existing domain and / or website plan the next year? I saw there are discounts for upgrading the first year, but am wondering if they exist for afterwards too.
-
Yes, we occasionally offer discounts for renewals. While I can’t promise specific times or amounts (as these can vary), we often send discount codes and promotional offers via email to our customers.
The best way to keep track of these deals is to keep an eye on your email inbox. Make sure our emails are not going to your spam folder to ensure you won’t miss out on any great offers.
Additionally, it’s always worth checking your WordPress.com account dashboard from time to time, as any offers or discounts may be posted there as well.
-
Okay great, thank you so much! That’s really great to know, I will look for emails and check back on the dashboard. Thanks for answering all my many questions! I am now set. :)
