changing default of "add media" from thumbnail to list

    Hello

    When I use the “add media” button, I’m taken to a thumbnail view of images in my media library. This makes it almost impossible to know what I’m looking for since I have multiple images that are similar in nature

    Does anyone know how to change this so the list view appears which has all the names and dates of my files?

    Unfortunately not when using the “Add Media” button.

    Switching between list and thumbnail view can be done in the Media Library only. When using the “Add Media” button from a Post or Page, there are a number of search options that appear in the drop down menu above the images and there is a search box, but that’s it.
