changing default page text color
-
I am not impressed with the changes to the simple basics like creating a post, since I last posted here. It is very UN-userfriendly now.
The basics that many people DO use, like changing page default text color are impossible to find. BUT the add ons which I don’t need or use, they are everywhere. not an improvement.
All I am trying to do is to change the default page text color and if possible, the color of the text of my header subtitle. should be easy peasy, don’t you think???
I use to love WP but it’s just a big hassle to post here now.
And what happened to the snow feature?
Hope to hear from you, thanks for your help.

We have tips for transitioning from the classic editor to blocks https://wordpress.com/support/switching-from-the-classic-to-the-block-editor/ and FAQs: https://wordpress.com/support/replacing-the-older-wordpress-com-editor-with-the-wordpress-block-editor/#frequently-asked-questions
And, if you really want to use something like the classic editor, we recommend sticking with the classic block: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/classic-block/
We also have some extensive documentation available at https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/
And, you can change text color following the steps at https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/paragraph-block/#text-color
If you have any feedback on the new editor, we’re always looking for ways to improve it, so please let us know!

thanks for your prompt reply but now I need to ask how to go back to the “classic” blogging option for posting. I’m not sure how that’s done. if that will simplify things, I’m on it!!!

Are you looking to change the text color site-wide? If so, could you send a link to the site? We’ll take a look and help you find the option.

I want to know how to do this simple task whenever required, not just a one off. It really shouldn’t be that hard to do, should it? At Blogger it is easy peasy and takes a couple of minutes for things like this. WP was easy too, but seems like that isn’t the case anymore. If you can just explain how to access the Classic format option maybe that will suffice.

For all of the sites on your account, you would use Customize to edit site-wide colors. That is under My Site > Customize. The palette options will depend on the theme you use. No site-wide feature has never been built into the classic editor, though, unless you count creation of new categories and tags.
The block editor will have options to edit site-wide colors with compatible themes. If you need more specifics, please send a link to the site.
And, for the time being you are welcome to use WP-admin’s classic editor, or classic blocks in the block editor. Again, though, neither of these would let you change site-wide colors.

You are still not answering my question re: accessing the Classic option when posting. That way, I could at least (hopefully) change the font color on my most recent post so that it is a better color for the theme colors I am now using. this is not user friendly IMO, just a big pain…..

It is not possible to default to the classic editor at this point, but it is possible to change text colors when using the new block editor.
This is difficult to explain in words, so I recorded a quick video to show you how to do it.
You can view the at this link: https://d.pr/v/VpUMeF
Is there any other text formatting you are used to doing in the classic editor, but not sure how to do in the new block editor? Happy to look into that as well. :)
Hope this helps!
