changing display of featured images for posts pages
-
Hello,
On my website, i have a front page with a large image as the front page header. I then added a second page that displays latest article posts. When I click to view an article, the featured image attached to the article is stretched out to fill the entire header of the page. Often times this cuts out the top half of a picture like a player’s head and upper body, and it looks awkward. is there any way I can change this so that it does not cut off the top half of a picture?
I have tried doing this with my basic knowledge of CSS but whenever i do, it also alters the size/display of the front page image which is not something I want to do. please assist if you can, thanks.

Hi there,
I looked at your site, the latest post you mentioned in the topic and another post dated last month, I don’t think CSS is able to help you with that because your featured image sizes are not consistent. So adding a generic CSS for the latest blog post might affect the display of the image on other posts as well. Adding a customized CSS code to adjust the featured image for each of the posts is not a good idea too.
And according to the documentation of the theme (Hestia) you’re using, they’re recommending an image size of 1920px x1080px for the featured image or header photo.
https://docs.themeisle.com/article/753-hestia-docIf you’re unable to have the image as large as that size, try to at least maintain the ratio of the image to be 16 X 9.
