Changing DNS servers on WordPress.com

    Hi,

I recently migrated my old info from wordpress.com to wordpress.org. I now need to change the DNS servers but I don’t know how to in the particular format, wordpress.com is asking me to put in.

    This:

    X <pref> <host>
    TXT <text>
    CNAME <subdomain> <host>
    A <subdomain> <IP>
    SRV <_service._protocol> <priority> <weight> <port> <domain

I’m using Hostgator now and this is what it’s saying:

Please be aware that you will need to set the following nameservers at your domain registrar for your domains. If the domain was purchased though us, please contact our sales team for assistance with this.

    NS1 Address: ns6503.hostgator.com
    NS2 Address: ns6504.hostgator.com

    NS1 IP Address: 192.254.235.124
    NS2 IP Address: 192.254.235.125

Could you help me do this?

    Thanks,

    Abhinav

You should only need to change the name servers to point to Hostgator

    Change a Domain’s Name Servers

Yes but how? I can’t access my blog hosted at WordPress.org until the DNS server is changed on WordPress.com. I can’t access Domain manager.

You change the name servers here, this is where your domain is registered.

Your WordPress.ORG dashboard will never have anything to do with the name servers no matter where your domain name is registered.
